2024.09 River of Life. 62x64. Acrylic on Canvas. Live collaboration at L4 with Bryn Gillette and Alexis Newsom

Alexis and I had just arrived in Seoul, Korea and after stretching a roll of canvas over a temporary stretcher, we painted this collaboratively as the 600ft. screens began the conference with images of ocean waves lapping on the shore. There were over 6000 believers in the room from over 200 nations, so the palpable sense of the rivers of the spirit coming together was overwhelming. There were rivers of humanity flowing into one stream as the Lord Jesus united us from the corners of the world.

Alexis and I were discovering just how compatible the Lord had made us to work together: encouraging each other as we artistically explored in color and mark, handing our brushes off to one another, dancing around the other’s movements and painting on and over the additions of one another… it was two rivers flowing together in the Spirit.
