2024.09.20 The Harvest Cycle. 63x128. Acrylic on Canvas. Live collaboration at L4 with Bryn Gillette and Alexis Newsom

This was a painted live collaboratively as a foreshadowing of the imagery for the Lausanne Movement 50th anniversary painting “The Harvest” that would be unveiled on the last day of the L4 conference in Seoul, Korea in Sep. 2024. Alexis and I had a blast recreating many of the symbols we’d prayerfully added to the 50th, and then I added the plower (an autobiographical symbol I’ve painted many times), Alexis as the sower- having her pose as a reference for me, and finally a tribute to Winslow Homer’s harvester from his famous painting “Veteran in the New Field.”
