YMCA Camp Harrison - First Edition Giclee Prints

from $150.00

I was honored to paint my second work in a series for the Charlotte, NC regional YMCA’s. The original 96” wide by 36” high acrylic painting with pen on wood panel now hangs in the dining hall of the camp. Camp Harrison is located about 2 hours north of the city of Charlotte, but serves as the mountain retreat for our regional YMCA’s. The camp is named in honor of Coca Cola’s executive Frank Harrison, and the first building constructed on the property in the early 2000’s was the “Ruth and Billy Graham Prayer Chapel”, in honor of Frank’s mother coming to faith Billy Graham’s crusade. Now that chapel sits at the very heart of camp, and the very heart of Christ, as Frank’s chosen verse for this work and as a blessing over camp is “Let the little children come to me” from Matthew 19:14. While a welcoming Christ spreads his arms to embrace everyone at camp, the mountain range that overshadows the entire region spans the background, an angelic host look down protectively from above, and dozens of familiar vignettes from faculty and campers spread across the bottom in the general layout of the actual property.
